Meet Cory Hepola – our emcee and “sports commentator” for the evening of our upcoming Risks of the Game gala, returning from hosting last year’s event. He has personal family experience with Alzheimer’s type dementia. He is happy to join our team at Gianna to help us raise funds for the Steve and Mary Mattson Fund and continue to uphold our outstanding care and services.
Cory joined KARE 11 as the Sunrise Anchor in Minneapolis, where his energetic personality, conversational delivery, and passion for his home state of Minnesota is on display every morning 5 AM – 7 AM.
Before returning home to Minnesota, Cory was an Award-Winning Sports Anchor with Comcast Sportsnet in Houston, Texas. For two years, he anchored the 6:00, 10:00, and 12:00 sportscast, Pre & Post Game LIVE, and the magazine shows Astros Bases Loaded and Astros Field Pass. IN 2014, Cory earned two more Emmy nominations, including Best On-Camera Talent: Sports anchor and Best Discussion/ Interview.
Cory’s grandmother passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2006.
